It's Fall ya'll!!!

As fall sets in, it is that time of year where we start to work on cleaning out our summer garden beds and raking up fall leaves. Here are a few tips to make sure that we are doing in a safe manner so that our feet don’t yell at us later.

  • Wear appropriate shoes – Never wear open toe shoes for these tasks. Shoes should be enclosed and supportive. This will help to avoid injury to feet that can be caused by sharp debris and gardening/yard equipment.
  • Be mindful of your work area – surfaces that are wet or covered with debris can put you at increased risk of slip and fall injuries or sprains.
  • Stay hydrated – Yard work is very physical labor. Be sure to stay properly hydrated to help reduce the risk of muscle cramps. It’s also not a bad idea to make sure to wear a hat to help provide some shade on particularly sunny days.
